J.T.B. (Just Them Boyz) MMI Newest Group

The name is J.T.B. (Just Them Boyz). Our group consists of two members, Joshua Trevino, a 23 year old Hispanic/Caucasian from Houston, Texas, and Brandon Hodges, a 22 year old Caucasian from Austin, Texas. We make music ranging from hip-hop, club bangers, r&b, house, and rap. We started out freestyling for fun along with mixing and mastering many different genres of music. It quickly became a passion, so we started creating our own songs. Now, our style is very versatile and unique because there is no comparison to the sound and look that we have. We attract a diverse audience by bringing a different feel to any song we create. Our ability to make songs that include rapping, singing, and harmonizing allows for us to reach all music lovers and bring them something new they may have never heard before. But, it’s not only about the music we make; when you listen to every song, you will be able to hear the passion and heart we put into making every second sound just right. We know our music will encourage people and give people a positive feeling every time they hear it.

How its going readers. Glad to be back at you all again… You want to know something funny? I never thought I would be writing about another artist from Arkansas. This is a major move for the city of Newport which is on fire. Introducing S.B.L. Now Im not sure what sbl stands for but I can tell you its original. S.B.L. has been recording over 10 years and you can tell alot of his music is fully developed. When I take submissions I always listen for confidence in a artist. The audience can always tell if you believe in yourself. One of my favorite songs that he has is a Million Dollar Mission. Its giving insight to hope and dreams. I really feel like his music is for motivating. Imagine Jeezy on a more down to earth flow and lyrics. That’s what S.B.L. has for his listeners. With music in your ear like this its nothing but flavor left for the fans. S.B.L. says he was influenced by artist like scarface and UGK. Which I can hear in his music. Down south below the dixie line music. S.B,L. is currently working on a mixtapes TBD soon. He has a album for the streets titled “3 N Da M,ornin” from the title im guessing this will be full of pary grinding music. Cant wait to listen. I have to say i can see the potential but he has more development work to put in. The production he choose is hot. At least he has a good ear for music. With a 13 track mixtape I feel its to much for a new comer. Now Im not saying he did a bad job but i think he could be the next Lupe meets Common if he keeps up the hard work. Newest MMG Signee: Stalley

By Josiah Hughes

Ohio-based rapper Stalley has enjoyed a great deal of success over the last three years thanks to a handful of top-notch mixtapes. The lyricist recently signed with Rick Ross’s budding Maybach Music Group, but before Stalley drops his thugged-out debut, he will say farewell to his independence with an official release of his Lincoln Way Nights mixtape.

The release, which is subtitled Intelligent Trunk Music, originally dropped as an online-only affair earlier this year. Now, it will get a proper release courtesy of SMC/Fontana on November 1.

Compared to the online version, the official full-length release boasts a different tracklisting, including a remix of the title track featuring the bawse himself Rick Ross.

MMG’s Meek Mill

Maybach Music Group

Fresh off the release of his hit single, ‘I’m A Boss,’ Maybach Music signee Meek Mill is ready to extend his turn in the spotlight, unleashing his latest lyrical offerings by way of the mixtape ‘Dreamchasers.’

Hosted by DJ Drama, and featuring the likes of Young Chris, Beanie Sigel, Yo Gotti, plus his labelhead Rick Ross, Mill is understandably elated as he spits mostly about following his dreams on the 21-track release. “We dream chase ’cause that’s all we were given to start with,” Drama says in the symphonic intro. “Then we realized the dream was attainable, now look at us.”

Throughout the mixtape, the Philly native jumps in an out of different rap styles over tracks produced from Jahlil Beats, All Star and A One, among others. He mimics Drake’s whimsical vocals on ‘Get Dis Money,’ lyrically rivals Ross on ‘I’m A Boss,’ gets both inspirational and braggadocious on the Siegel-assisted title track, then speeds up his flow for a freestyle over Kanye West and Jay-Z’s ‘N—-s in Paris.’

At this point, the 24-year-old is comfortable playing in the mixtape game, releasing a total of four pieces since his 2007 introduction to the music world. Having already been featured with his Maybach Music family on their ‘Self Made Vol. 1’ compilation, which debuted in May, Mill is expected to drop his first official album later this year. He recently shot the video for his anthemic track, ‘I’m A Boss,’ which will is set to debut soon.
